Major developing housing association managing a combination of General Needs, Supported and Sheltered housing seeking a Governance review.

The Challenge
Establish a position statement of Board capacity, function and fitness for purpose combined with a reflective performance review and to identify future strategic challenges.

PSI Support
Working closely with the Board and senior management team our approach included:

  • Identification of current and future business challenges, threats and opportunities together with an evaluation of customer capacity and appetite for increased involvement
  • Skills Audit and capacity assessment of Board, Executive and Staff and a ‘lessons learned’ exercise to explore Board decision making processes, functionality and resilience
  • Modelling of governance structures to achieve greater efficiency, increased focus on strategic decision making and redesign of processes and practices in support of Board function
  • Introduction of a comprehensive Board development programme aligned with Executive development programme and prescribed review framework
